Sparks and Wake are festival experiences created by Peter Rollins, designed as immersive programmes of ideas, performance and conversation held in Belfast and attended by participants from around the world.
The brief required a high-quality printed programme that could clearly communicate a complex schedule combining academic talks, workshops and evening performances.
To support navigation through the events, a visual timetable system was developed. A simple daylight-based colour strip ran along the edge of each page, allowing readers to quickly understand the structure of the day at a glance while moving through the publication.
The result was a clear, tactile and concept-led brochure design that balanced clarity, usability and atmosphere, ensuring the programme functioned both as an information tool and a physical artefact.
