Trinity High School Adress
Do what you love. Be a good mate
I was asked by my former high school to give a very short address to the new year 7 students. My advice was simple; Try to put all your energy into the things you love and enjoy, and the things you are good at, the second part of my advice was to be a good friend. Research has found that children who are taught to be kind do better in their exams, and in their careers than their counterparts who are taught to put academia first. The reason, they believe, is because a trusting character goes along way among peers and in the workplace and is valued higher than technical ability.
Public Art / Panel Event
Selling Virtues is a project promoting the responsible use of advertising space. It will culminate in the pairing of three thinkers and three advertising studios to create three advertising campaigns for living well, this will be accompanied by a panel event and a research publication.
“As a private person, I have a passion for landscape, and I have never seen one improved by a billboard. Where every prospect pleases, man is at his vilest when he erects a billboard. When I retire from Madison Avenue, I am going to start a secret society of masked vigilantes who will travel around the world on silent motor bicycles, chopping down posters at the dark of the moon. How many juries will convict us when we are caught in these acts of beneficent citizenship?”

Capitalist ideology aims to impart the notion that we are worthy of love and belonging - once we have bought into the product or service.
Brené Brown found that those who fully experience joy and live wholeheartedly have these four characters in common:
1. The courage to accept their imperfection,
2. Compassion towards themselves first,
3. The ability to let go of who they should be in order to be who they really are, and
4. To embrace vulnerability and unknowing.
You’re not perfect, you’re never going to be, and that’s the good news.
