Catalogue and promotional design for BE STILL PassionArt art trail across Manchester exploring stillness, reflection and sacred space through contemporary art.

BE STILL was a visual arts trail produced by PassionArt to mark the season of Lent through a city-wide programme of contemporary art, installation, performance and reflection.

Staged across six of Manchester’s most iconic cultural venues, the trail brought together internationally recognised and local artists to explore moments where the sacred can be found within the everyday environment.

The design of the accompanying catalogue and promotional materials focused on creating a calm, contemplative visual language that reflected the themes of stillness, silence and attention. Typography, pacing and image sequencing were used to support a sense of reflection, allowing the reader to move through the publication in a slow and intentional way.

Alongside documentation of the artworks, the publication included reflections and guided practices designed to help audiences engage spiritually and practically with themes of prayer, mindfulness and solitude. This expanded the role of the publication beyond documentation, positioning it as an active participant in the experience of the trail itself.

The result is a publication that operates as both catalogue and contemplative object, aligning editorial structure with the rhythm of the Lenten season.
