You Are Enough

Commissioned by St Peter’s Chaplaincy, this large-scale public artwork transformed a prominent wall on Oxford Road in Manchester into a simple but powerful message of encouragement.
Located within one of the busiest student corridors in the UK, the installation centred on three words: You Are Enough. Originally developed as a sticker project, the message was reimagined at architectural scale when an opportunity arose to activate a vast blank wall overlooking the city.
The project emerged from a shared belief that public space can be used for more than advertising. Instead of asking people to buy, subscribe or consume, the artwork sought to offer a moment of affirmation within the everyday experience of moving through the city.
The impact of the work was often communicated through personal stories. One account described a recovering alcoholic walking along Oxford Road with his sponsor. During a conversation about self-worth, the sponsor remarked, “You don't think enough of yourself.” At that exact moment, both looked up and saw the giant message above them: You Are Enough.
The installation became one of the largest public art banners in the North West and formed part of an ongoing body of work exploring wellbeing, belonging and positive public messaging in shared spaces.
"Micah Purnell is a creative genius. Brilliant to work with and delivers a professional service of a very high quality. I can't recommend him highly enough."
