These handmade prints are made with repurposed fallen billboard advert paper which I collected from outdoor sites, I cut them down, separated many of the sheets where possible, then salt dried and weight pressed them for two months. Following this I curated appropriate sections to be laid behind laser cut stenciled quotes, exposing specific sections, textures and colours of the advert paper. In some cases I used the reverse traditional blue backed paper, which gives a sky-like appearance.
I love the mixing of apparent contradictions. The steadfast ferocity of hell wrapped in honourable action. 'Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends' said Jesus, same like Edward Snowdon, and countless other activists and whistle blowers have done.
