Public Work

Public installations, civic projects and large-scale visual communication

Micah Purnell is a multidisciplinary creative director and artist based in Manchester working across public art, graphic design and editorial systems. His practice spans large-scale civic installations, typographic interventions and socially driven visual communication created for streets, stadiums, institutions and cultural organisations.

Working across billboards, public spaces and digital environments, the work explores how language and design shape collective experience — from moments of civic reflection to large-scale cultural events. Projects often combine typography, photography and narrative to create direct, accessible forms of public communication.

Recent work includes large-scale installations at Wembley Stadium, public messaging campaigns across Manchester, editorial design for national publications, and ongoing billboard-based art projects through ADD-ART, an outdoor platform showcasing local and international artists.

His work has been commissioned and exhibited by organisations including The Guardian, Wembley Park, the NHS, Elbow and major cultural institutions across the UK and internationally. It has been featured in Creative Review, Design Week, Creative Boom and other leading design and cultural publications.
